Seroflo Inhaler is a combination of Fluticasone and Salmeterol. It falls under the category of synthetic corticosteroids and selective, long-acting beta2-adrenergic receptor agonists. Due to its two active components, Seroflo Inhaler has a broad range of effects on asthma. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and has a duration of action of at least 12 hours. The inhaler is used to manage asthma symptoms. Patients who have tried various combination therapies or inhalers without experiencing improvement may be suitable candidates for Seroflo Inhaler. Additionally, it is effective in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), particularly in moderate to severe cases.
The Fluticasone component helps to prevent inflammation, which is a key trigger for asthma, while Salmeterol aids in relaxing the muscles around the airways, thereby expanding them. Both active ingredients are discharged into the bronchioles of the lungs and work synergistically to enhance lung function and alleviate asthma symptoms.
Seroflo Inhaler is typically administered twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. The prescribed dosage depends on the severity of the patient's condition and their age. It’s important to shake the inhaler prior to use and remove the mouthpiece cover. Do not exhale into the device. Position the mouthpiece between the lips and inhale through the mouth. Holding your breath for a few moments is crucial. After inhalation, remove the mouthpiece and cover it, then exhale gently.
Do not take an additional puff of the Seroflo Inhaler even if you do not taste the medication. Rinse your mouth with water afterward. Always follow these instructions each time you use the inhaler. Inform your physician if you have conditions like tuberculosis, diabetes, lung infections, or heart diseases. Seroflo should only be used for the duration prescribed. If a dose is missed, it can be taken when remembered, unless it's close to the next scheduled dose; in that case, skip the missed dose.
Seroflo Inhaler may cause side effects, including sore throat, throat irritation, headache, increased heart rate, palpitations, muscle cramps, tremors, and bruising among others.
The side effects from Seroflo Inhaler are related to the specific active ingredients rather than their combination. Generally, these effects are mild; however, if severe or unusual symptoms occur, emergency medical attention should be sought.
